Ornithological Reserve Kuntrep

On the southeastern coast of the island of Krk, the ornithological reserve Kuntrep was proclaimed in 1969. It extends along the coast, from Cape Glavine to the bay of Mala luka with a coastal zone of one kilometer wide and 10 kilometers long. There are about 35 nests of griffon vultures in the reserve area, as well as other endangered bird species in Europe such as the eagle serpent (Circaetus gallicus), the gray falcon (Falco peregrinus) and many others. The reserve can only be reached on foot or by boat.
